A "big" weekend

This was a "big" weekend for Connor. Now that he's walking, he can explore the world differently and he has been doing so. In addition to relentlessly walking around the house, we took him to his first official (not in our yard) Easter Egg Hunt. It was a little chilly, but it wasn't too bad and it warmed up a little while we were out there. As I mentioned in the earlier post, they let the 0 - 4 year olds go first and since most of the kids don't yet know what they are doing many of the parents are on the grounds as well. So, as the hunt started, Connor was much more interested in everyone running around him, but Brad quickly got him focused on the eggs. Of course, once he picked one up he opened it and found a candy bracelet. With some encouragement from Grandma and Brad, Connor continued to pick up and open a few more eggs. As you can see in the photo, Connor wasn't too excited about meeting the Easter Bunny this year. We tried to get him to walk up to the bunny, but Connor screamed and ran back to Daddy. This is as close as we could get him and he wasn't even happy about this.

This weekend, Connor also got a couple of new "big boy toys." We got a sandbox and a slide/activity gym for the back yard. We haven't put the sand in yet, but Connor still enjoyed playing in the empty sandbox and the really big box that the gym came in while Grandpa and Brad put together the slide/gym. He quickly learned how to get up the steps, but getting his legs situated at the top of the slide was a little more challenging. Once we would get both of his legs facing down the slide, he would wiggle and lean forward to get down the slide while smiling and giggling.
