Soccer

Brad and I grew up playing soccer and we even played on the same indoor soccer team 13 years before we met again and started dating, so we both wanted Connor to at least try soccer and we hoped he'd like it.  Although it's not really soccer until kids are older, we put Connor in a class called Soccer Tots at 18 months so he could learn a few ball skills, work on his agility and coordination and mostly just have fun and wear himself out.  You might recall this photo from his first practice two years ago.


Well, two years later Connor started playing with his first "organized" soccer team, The Sharks.  Daddy is "coaching" and we had our first practice in the August heat.  We streched, played a few games and even kicked the ball around a little.  The kids are so cute dressed up in their soccer gear holding and dribbling balls that are almost as high as their knees.  We will have a few practices before our first game and introduce some ball skills and try to teach the concept of playing as a team and working together to move the ball down the field to score a goal while we have lots of fun.   It's been fun to watch my baby learn so much as he grows up and it's going to be great watching him learn to play soccer and other sports too.
