Birthday #3 - 2011

Connor turned 3 this past weekend. He has been so excited because he hears "birthday party" a lot, and when it becomes his special day, he knows he gets lots of presents! On Saturday, we went to a place called "Extra Innings" for his party. It's predominantly a baseball practice facility, but they are affiliated with Connor's soccer program, called Soccer Tots. Connor got to see all of his friends and played some soccer games, then eat the birthday cupcake and some lunch. He kept looking at the presents being placed on "the present table". But we kept having to tell him that he could open them after we got home. So as soon as we got through the door of our house, he ran and yelled "I wanna open my presents!" So we went about opening them and noting who gave him what gift. He was so impatient with several of them, because it seems every toy is child-proof, adult-proof, and every-other-sort-of-proof with their packaging. It was a good thing he had other presents to distract him. He finished opening the presents from all of his friends, then eventually had to take a nap. After the nap, he continued opening presents from Mommy and Daddy, after his relatives. To top it off, he had even more to open the next day, because we were trying to spread out the opening of the presents, simply because he had so many :-) His "big" gift this year has been a whiteboard/easel that the budding artist can stand next to and draw/paint/write what he likes. And sometimes, he just asks Mommy or Daddy to draw something for him :-)  He loves the movie Toy Story (1 and 2...we haven't seen 3 yet) and he received a lot of toys based on the movie.  He really enjoyed dressing up like Woody and Buzz.
